As in the case of Rattanakiri, flying to the provincial town of Sen Monorom is recommended. Mondulkiri province covers some 16,000 sq kms and supports a population of 30,000 (less than 2 people per sq km!).

Along with Rattanakiri, this province is sparsely populated and very remote and it gives the adventurous tourist opportunity to explore new territories. Modulkiri is lacking in most western comfort, so some preparation is required prior to embarking on an adventure to this province. The surrounding countryside offers a bountiful variety of flora, fauna, waterfalls, hill tribes, and local attractions for the more adventure-minded traveler.
