Cambodia’s second largest city with a population of 150,000 is a quiet city on the main road to Thailand. It boasts nearby Angkor-era temples such as Ek Phnom and Phnom Banan, the cliff side pagoda of Phnom Sambeou,

and a relaxing riverside area where drinks and snacks can be enjoyed. Tourists traveling overland to Thailand are increasingly visiting Battambang as a stopover. It can be reached by airplane, by road, or even by boat from Siem Reap.
