Continuing further north, approximately half way to Laos is the pretty town of Kratie. The town is a great stop over and is best reached by boat that takes 5-6 hrs from Phnom Penh or 3 hrs from Kampong Cham.

Travel by road is possible, but after Kampong Cham the going gets tough and can get even tougher during the wet season.
