Kampong Cham is located 124 km northeast from Phnom Penh and is reached by a recently constructed asphalt road or by riverboat. Travel from Phnom Penh will take 2 hrs by vehicle or 2½ hrs by boat.

The town of Kampong Cham is located on the Mekong River and is the fourth largest town in Cambodia. This pretty town and its region have grown because of their variety of agricultural produce and are heavily reliant on the inland port. Kampong Cham has its own Angkor-era temples and other sites of cultural interest and is an ideal stopping off location before heading further north.
