Established in 1932, the Raffles Grand Hotel d"Angkor has finally been restored to the majesty of the past, complimenting the grandeur of Angkor as never before.
In addition to the meticulous restoration of the French-colonial architectural and decorative styles, some of the original feature of the hotel were preserved.
At that time, the hotel was the only building to have the cage elevator. Now the restored original resides in the lobby. The 60,000 square meters of gardens have also been restored with over 20,000nflowering plants, shrubs and local trees. When you stay at Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor, you experience the signature Raffles style and service, a blend of modern comforts with the grandeur of yesteryear.
The art of preserving the past

Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor is a sterling example of how building can be restored with a deep respect for the past and great sensitivity to the history and local culture. In Keeping with the spirit of Angkor, local Cambodian artists were commissioned to create original works for the hotel interior. A frieze of aquatic animals, inspired by the ancient bathing pools of the Khmer kings, overlooks the swimming pool.

Some of the suits are decorated with historic memorabilia and many of the architectural details and decorative features are inspired by Angkor itself.

At Restaurant Le Grand, the chefs have been inspired by the exotic cuisine of fine Khmer dinning. The Restaurant's menu features traditional Khmer creations based on delicacies served in the Royal Household. A collection of 9th and 12th century Khmer artifacts also decorates the restaurant. Café d'Angkor is another popular dining choice with its fine selection of international dishes. For a nightcap, don't forget to visit the world famous Elephant Bar.
